Community Services (formerly DoCS) promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and works to build stronger families and communities. We provide child protection services, parenting support and early intervention, foster care, adoption services and help for communities affected by disaster.
Department of Human Services, Centrelink
Centrelink is an Australian Government agency delivering a range of services to the community. Centrelink offices provide the following services: all services formerly provided by DSS offices, as well as childcare and student assistance payments and services; registration and acceptance of all new applicants for income support and employment assistance; self-help job search facilities, including computer access to a national job vacancies database; referrals for employment assistance; and specialist labour market assistance services for disadvantaged groups, including Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders, sole parents, people with disabilities, migrants and young people.

Northern Settlement Services (Migrant Resource Centre of Newcastle and Hunter Region)
Northern Settlement services include multi-lingual information and referral, casework and counselling, community education and development. They offer consultancy and cross cultural training to other agencies to assist them in their service delivery to migrants. Also providing migration advice and assistance by agents accredited with the Migration Agents Registration Scheme.
Northern Settlement Services Limited offers a variety of settlement services to refugees and migrants of NESB (non- English speaking background). Promoting access and equity in service delivery to refugees and migrants and support the activities and projects of multicultural and diverse interest groups in the community.

The Local Community Services Association (LCSA) is the peak body of Neighbourhood and Community Centres in NSW. Formed in 1974, LCSA continues to resource and support our members to develop as community development organisations, and to advocate and represent their interests amongst policy and decision makers.
